The first mutual collaborative efforts of ARI and Avicenna Fertility Center culminated in the successful establishment of the first and second endometriosis congress in 2009 and 2013 with the honorable participation of Professor Adel Shervin as the scientific secretariat in both congresses. The 3rd congress on Endometriosis and Minimally Invasive Gynecology (EMIG) was held in 2016 with participation of Professor Shahin Khazali, the skillful gynecological surgeon and an international lecturer on advanced laparoscopy, who sincerely welcomed our invitation to be the scientific secretariat. In the second and third congresses on endometriosis, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences as the main collaborating center supported ARI and Avicenna Fertility Center in organizing the events. Obstetricians, general surgeons, colorectal surgeons and urologists, general practitioners, midwives, and nurses working in gynecology wards are the main target audience of the event.
Our forthcoming congress will be held on January, 27-28 and February 3-4, 2022 as a webinar due to imposed restrictions caused by COVID-19 pandemic. The first day of this congress, January 27, is dedicated to the Film Festival of laparoscopy surgery, endometriosis, and hysteroscopy. This festival is held for the first time in the country to reflect the expertise and elegant work of our surgeons and Excellence Award is granted to top three outstanding films by the Festival selection-committee.
On 28th of January, 3rd-4th of February, specialized panels will be held, two panels simultaneously in the morning and two panels simultaneously in the evening, with the following topics:
- Endometriosis: Epidemiology, genetics and epigenetics
- Endometriosis and surgery
- Fertility and fertility preservation in endometriosis
- Laparoscopic hysterectomy
- Anatomy in laparoscopic surgery
- Quality of life in endometriosis patients

- Endometriosis and pregnancy
- Myomas and adenomyosis

EMIG 2022 Call for paper
The 4th congress on Endometriosis and Minimally Invasive Gynecology (EMIG 2022) will be held on January, 27-28 and February 3-4, 2022.
The main topics for discussions swivel round the following items: Endometriosis: Epidemiology, genetics and epigenetics, Endometriosis and surgery, Fertility and fertility preservation in endometriosis, Laparoscopic hysterectomy, Anatomy in laparoscopic surgery, Quality of life in endometriosis patients, The role of imaging in endometriosis, Cancer and endometriosis, Medical treatments, Laparoscopy complications, Endometriosis and pregnancy, Myomas and adenomyosis, and Hysteroscopy.

Film Festival of laparoscopy surgery and endometriosis
Film Festival of laparoscopy surgery and endometriosis, as the complementary program of the 4th congress on Endometriosis and Minimally Invasive Gynecology will be established on January 27, 2022 and Excellence Award is granted to top three outstanding films by the Festival selection-committee. The terms and conditions for participation in the Festival:
- Topics on laparoscopic surgery in women, laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis, hysteroscopy
- Films with a maximum length of 10 minutes
- Films submitted must be a final, edited product
- High-definition (HD) quality videos (1280×720 HD resolution) or Full HD (1080 × 1920 resolution)
- The surgeon's profile, patient's history, and type of operation should be written or said at the beginning of the video
- Observance of medical ethics and patients’ rights in obscuring the cases’ face and identity
At the end of the Festival, Excellence Award is granted to top three outstanding films by the Festival selection-committee.
Enthusiastic participants can upload a video file and send it to our Secretariat in a limited time period beginning September 6, 2021 and ending October 23, 2021.
