Education and Graduate Bureau

With respect to the ARI mission in promotion of knowledge and skill, disseminating and sharing our researchers' achievements and training other experts and propagating the outcomes of obtained advances have always been the main concern. This aim has been achieved by holding educational courses, workshops, seminars and presentations, conducting theses and dissertations and inviting local and foreign specialists to exchange knowledge with research centers and universities as they are the principal duties of the Bureau.

Having appropriate facilities in conjunction with experienced professional faculty members in different majors including clinical and basic sciences culminated in educating students at different fields and training specialized human power. In line with the objectives, one of the services of ARI is supervising and supporting the student dissertations in graduate and post graduate studies. Students of graduate programs have the opportunity to conduct their research projects and dissertations in all fields of basic science, medical sciences, humanities and social sciences and other relevant fields, congruent and similar to the main activities of ARI. ARI admits graduates from all national and international higher education centers and universities.

Avicenna Research Institute - comprising three research centers and specialized labs and having skillful faculty members- enjoys proper facilities to initiate graduate programs for both MSc and PhD degrees. To achieve this purpose, we have corresponded with a number of national and international universities. Some universities announced their consent to cooperate and accordingly, necessary arrangements and correspondence with Ministry of Health and Medical Education have been carried out which paves the way to admit students in near future for graduate programs up on the final discretion and agreement of the Ministry. The programs will be definitely efficient in training the required experts and cuts the cumbersome procedures and expenses in sending the students abroad to continue their education. In line with the objectives, the accomplished activities of the institute in establishing different programs like PhD of medical genetics, medical immunology, reproductive biology, and medical biotechnology can be itemized.
After final evaluations of the specialized boards of the above-mentioned fields, students in Reproductive Biology can be admitted to ARI as the Ministry of Health and Medical Education issued the permission in 2017.

Having been equipped with specialized labs and the expertise of faculty members and the facilities for conducting graduate programs, ARI established the PhD by research program after obtaining the permission from Ministry of Health and Medical Education in 2011 as an independent research institute not affiliated with universities of medical sciences.

ARI has deployed the resources of Avicenna Fertility Center and the capabilities of specialized faculty members and laid the ground for fellowship programs.

Through consistent communication and contact with Ministry of Health and Medical Education in recent years to make itself avail of the privilege of fellow programs, the permission for recruiting fellows in infertility treatment was obtained from the Ministry based on the standard guidelines and principles in 2016.

One of the most important problems faced by many graduates of different academic levels is the lack of practical experience or in other words, the inadequacy of their work experience that will have an adverse effect on the student's future career.

The internship provides a golden opportunity to participate in successful scientific, industrial, commercial and service environments through which the student can gain valuable experience without worrying about job responsibilities and consequences.

Internship is an opportunity to apply what has been learned, to get acquainted with the real work environment, to benefit from the experiences of professionals, to prepare for entering the labor market, to gain confidence and independence, and to become familiar with new methods and approaches in the field. An internship is a learning experience in a real work environment that is directly related to one's personal interests, career aspirations, and area of education. It is one of the learning strategies that people with little work experience, recent graduates, and even students can attend to promote their capabilities.

With the efforts of the colleagues of the Deputy and collaboration of research groups, research institutes and affiliated centers, in order to achieve the above objectives and create suitable conditions for applicants, internship courses in various fields are planned and implemented.
