Cell Culture Services

About the service
Our cell culture service offers a controlled laboratory environment where cells are cultured under optimal conditions. This process involves the cultivation of cells using specific culture media such as RPMI-1640, DMEM, and MEM. Each medium contains essential nutrients like vitamins, minerals, sugars, amino acids, and hormones. The choice of culture medium depends on the specific cell line being cultured. When culturing cells for the first time, it is crucial to obtain information from cell banks and carefully examine the cell characteristics. Improper passages can lead to changes in cell morphology, growth rate, increased protein expression, and eventual senescence or cell death. Cells can be categorized into two groups based on their adhesion to the flask substrate: suspension and adherent cells. Suspension cells can be separated by gentle up and down pipetting. Adherent cells, on the other hand, require the use of trypsin-EDTA to detach them from the substrate and create a single-cell suspension. Contamination is a common challenge in cell culture. It can include bacterial, fungal, yeast, mycoplasma, viral, and parasitic contaminants. To mitigate this, the state-of-the-art equipment can be used such as a laminar flow hood, CO2 incubators, and filtration systems for the cell culture environment. Our cell culture laboratories are equipped with aeration systems and UV lamps to maintain a clean and sterile environment. At Avicenna Research Institute, our Cell Culture Laboratory is equipped with a team of highly experienced faculty members and experts who are committed to delivering exceptional, high-quality services. Having been equipped with a reliable cell bank, we ensure the availability of various cell lines for research purposes.

Our cell culture and hybridoma services include:
  • Cultivation of suspension and adherent cells
  • Supply of various types of animal cells
  • Creation of single cells and injection into mice to induce tumor growth
  • Antigen injection into laboratory animals
  • Conducting ELISA tests
