Electroporation Service
Electroporation is a microbiology technique that involves applying an electric field to cells to enhance the permeability of their cell membranes. This allows for the transfer of chemicals, drugs, or DNA into the cells. Electroporation is particularly valuable for introducing foreign genes into cultured cells, including mammalian cells.
The process of electroporation is conducted using an electroporator device. The cell suspension is injected into a glass or plastic container that contains two aluminum electrodes positioned on opposite sides. The electroporation process is carried out by applying a specific voltage.
