Ethics Committee in Research

About

  • The Ethics Committee in Research at ARI was formed in 2001 after announcing the names of its members to the Deputy of Research and Technology of Ministry of Health and Medical Education.
  • The meetings of the committee are held monthly with nine members.
  • In this committee, projects related to human and animal subjects are reviewed and evaluated.
  • This committee reviews the research projects of Avicenna Research Institute, Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (ACECR) of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, and Institute of Medicinal Plants of ACECR.
  • All submitted projects will be approved after being confirmed by the Ethics Committee, and for clinical trial projects, first, IRCT registration code should be received from the project implementer, and then the project documentation, especially informed consent, will be approved and finalized in the committee office.
  • This committee also organizes research ethics training courses for students, implementers and collaborators of research projects, faculty members of Avicenna Research Institute and Avicenna Fertility Center.
  • In addition to clerical work, preparation and review of ethics committee documents, holding ethics committee meetings, providing necessary instructions to complete the ethics committee documents upon request are carried out in this office. However, students, faculty members and project implementers must make an appointment in advance for the necessary instructions.
  • The working hours and days of the ethics committee are from Saturday to Wednesday from 8:00 to16:00.
